Goodbye October – Hello November!

Dear readers, it’s already November (pointing out the obvious), but we’re still holding on to fall. Time has flown! In the previous articles about fall, we have covered fall paintings, fall tv series, fall food (banana bread, curtesy of Morgan Johnson), fall ballets and music pieces, but we have not covered fall fashion. To those fashion admirers out there, here are some fall fashion trends for this year! (And yes, I have researched them as I am interested in fashion myself). We will go from shoes to sweaters, skirts and coats! And we will talk about the tricky question of leather!

Shoes

As you’ve probably noticed by now, in this magazine we like to stay in our comfort zone, and stick to our magazine’s theme: the preforming arts. And just by coincidence, one of the fall fashion trends for this year happen to be ballerina flats! They are considered trendy and comfortable, and go with jeans, dresses and skirts. And now, stepping a little bit out of our comfort zone, we have boots: we have the cowboy boot, the chunky boot, and the good old fashioned leather boot! And here I am telling you that they are in fashion, that they are  trendy, and I have never tried one on! Shame on me. Enough of shoes? I get the hint.

Sweaters

Imagine sitting by a fire, cuddled up in a blanket and a cosy sweater, with a warm pastry and a book!  Now, the question is - what sweater?! Well, I have a few options for you. There is the good old cargo sweater (make sure it is not an itchy one, I used to have some of these, and believe me, the scratching marks aren’t that fun!), we have the crewneck sweater (oversized, which you can pair with a big coat, or with a trench coat) and last, but definitely not least (maybe even my favourite), we have the turtle neck! It’s comfy, it’s fashionable, it’s all that! (Theres a movie Called “She’s All That,” I haven’t watched it yet though.) You can pair it in so many ways. Moving along to:

Skirts

Behold the low rise! I know, it’s giving y2k. But we love it! What can I say, we love a good y2k trend. They come in so many shapes, sizes and fabrics! First, for this fall, we have the denim skirt, the pleated skirt, and the mini skirt (paired with long tights and boots).

A big yes! And moving on to:

Coats

It’s getting chilly and you want to take a nice stroll in the evening. What should you layer on top of your clothes? Anything oversized you can find. Leather jackets and coats are very trendy. But is this good for the environment? No! The good news: you can buy fake leather jackets in many high street brands. And finally, we have the trench! A classic, elegant and trendy coat!

We will meet again in a month, discussing winter - absolutely everything, so stay tuned for more, and make sure to subscribe to our newsletter to see all our new articles!
